HEROES
----------------------------------------------------------------
Argo, Jessa
Jessa is an optimistic senator with strong skills of persuasion and investigation. She is strong willed and often travels without the support of the Republic to try to bring worlds to fight against the Empire. Her knowledge of bureaucracy makes her very valuable when dealing with alien worlds, often allowing her to get a feel for the way things work in most governments within a few hours of study.
Barmon, Torbet
A streetwise gambler, Torbet has been to more space ports than most people have heard of. Never failing to take an opportunity to make (and sometimes lose) a credit, Torbet has made many friends (including Corvin) and enemies. Due to his ability to charm most people in the underworld and his knowledge of the inner worlds of the Lost Sector, Torbet has become a member of the Republic that could be able to set up underground supply lines and information rings that others could not.
Brandenburg, Molok
Molok is a scout, and works with the Republic to explore the areas outside the Lost Sector. The youngest son of a minor bureaucrat from Corseraunt, he pilots the Pathfinder, a Survivor Mark IV scout ship, and is often companioned by his trusted R2-D3 droid he simply refers to as "3". However, Molok is no pushover even though he came from a wealthy family; he is tough, resourceful and streetwise.
Ceris Tai
A lost member of the Jedi-like force adepts called the Jensaarai, Tai Ceris was in the Lost Sector when the energy field of the Spatial Wave Creator exploded. Being attacked by Krung, the ship drifted for over a week before being found by the Pathfinder. She now works with the Republic, under the guise that she is indeed a Jedi.
Jager, Corvin
Old friends with Torbet, Corvin is an ex-pirate, now working with the Republic to scout the areas outside the Lost Sector and fight against the Empire. Corvin is possibly the best of the heroes with a blaster, but is rather overconfident, often biting off more than he can chew.
Straught, Onveee
A mechanic from the world of Jarintine, Onvee has a near-perfect memory and a genius-level intelligence. He can build, repair, modify and invent almost anything, including ships, droids and computers. He has become a sort-of on-ship mechanic for the Pathfinder, which often needs repairs far away from known space. Molok is very capable of making these repairs, but finds that Onvee is often quicker at making them. Onvee is often quiet and "in the background", which is something that he does not mind, and is often not able to concentrate on simple tasks, being so wrapped up in his designs and other thoughts.
OTHER HEROES / Neutral
----------------------------------------------------------------
Captin Ranchi (Captain of the Protector, human)
K'Vell (Captain of the Rancor Squadron, human)
Jerad (force sensitive, but not force-trained, leader of the Free Worlds of Garka, from FeeYou)
Rando ("hero" might be pushing it a bit; Onvee's friend, mechanic, stays mostly on Jarantine)
Rayku (A Krung Ambassador)
Admiral Virak (Imperial Officer who turned against them, now works with the Republic)
Nelvo (Leader of a pirate city of the same name)
(Artwork of Jerad by J. Scott Pittman)
VILLIANS
----------------------------------------------------------------
Grand Moff Zarkon
Leader of the Shadow Nebula Fleet, now the real force of the Empire, Grand Moff Zarkon is one of the most cunning of the Imperial Grand Moffs. Although Darth Murderous could claim to be leader of the Imperial Fleet, he leaves this task to Zarkon, knowing he is far more qualified.
Kazdan-Barr
(Art by J. Scott Pittman)
Leader: Risa
The Kazdan-Barr are a group of powerful female warriors who use suits of armor, vibo-swords, and ships with incredibe technology. However, their most powerful and feared ability is their ability to manipulate, read and control the minds of others. Their exact number remains unknown, but is assumed to be small. Their ability to use mental powers that most cannot resist (including force-users), and their ability to fuse that mental energy with their vibro-swords, gives them awsome fighting abilities, and they have been known to be on equal ground with both the Jedi and the Sith. Although they cannot deflect blaster bolts, they have the ability to somehow bend time-space around themselves as sort of a "deflector screen". In addition, they seem to have great healing abilities, having mastered mind-over-body techniques.
Although the Kazdan-Barr have limited numbers, their forces are strong. They have many ships, including frigite-sized battle cruisers. Using clones and droids, they have many ground troops and the ability to replenish their forces quickly. Apparently, they have either many bases to hide in or the ability to move and build new bases with ease. The Kazdan-Barr themselves have specialized ships that are powerful and fast, and have technologies unknown to modern science, including holoprojectors, cloaking devices that fighters can use, shielding, improved armor, sensor invisibility, and mental-control devices. Thankfully for the rest of the galaxy, it is thought that there are only a handful of such ships in existance.
Not much is known about the Kazdan-Barr, their motives or where they gain much of their technology from. It is assumed that they must have contact with a race outside of the known territories, which might be the case considering their mental powers. It is known that they were once a group of royal guards for the Allied Worlds, but the leaders of those worlds disbanded the group (the reasons for this are disputed. The official reason is that the Kazdan-Barr were no longer necessary, but it seems incredible that any goverment would give up such an effective force; upon meeting with the Allied Worlds leader, he claimed that the reason was that the Halibatians feared that they would be corrupted by having such powerful warriors serve under them, and decided that it was best to end their service and allow them to find their own way in the galaxy). Since that time they have sometimes hired themselves out as mercenaries, and were in the service of the Empire, in at least one battle, during the battles against the new Empire. They have also been known to trade in slaves, clone slaves for purchase, and sell high technology to various races.
The leader of the Kazdan-Barr is a single female warrior, often called the "Queen" or "Mother". She, in turn, calls her followers "Warriors" or "Daughters". It is not known if any of the Kazdan-Barr warriors encountered were actually related to each other, but it is known that their bloodlines often carry the abilty to weild the mental powers to fight as Kazdan-Barr. (note: it has since been discovered that all of the Kazdan-Barr are clones of an original).
Sith (Darth Foul: deceased)
Easily the most powerful Sith encountered by the characters so far (with possibly the exception of Darth Murderous), Darth Foul sems to beguile his title, being well dressed and with a pleasent demeanor until provoked.
What is known is the Darth Foul seems to be a leader (or one of the leaders) of the Sith orginization that exists in the Lost Sector. He is very powerful and easily defeated Ceris on thier first encounter. He has claimed to have a master himself, but the identity of this other Master Sith is unknown.
Darth Foul was killed by Soleeth and Ceris in a recent battle.
Sith: (Darth Murderous: Deceased)
Extremely powerful, Darth Murderous was created as a clone of the Emperor to be used as a host when his older body faded. The clone was called Darth Murderous and was trained in the Sith arts by Darth Vader. Soon his power level was sufficient for the Emperor to meld with him, but Palpatine was killed in the battle of Endor before this took place. Murderous was placed in command of the Shadow Nebula Fleet.
Murderous appears to be burned, but on closer inspection it is apparent that his fleash is very slowly eroding, possibly due to the Dark Side of the Force, some nature of the cloning process, or in some spiritual fashion because he did not meld with the Emperor after being prepared to do so. He normaly keeps his body tightly wrapped under a grey and black cloak. The picture to the right shows Murderous without his cloak.
For more, see the Adventures section.
Sith: (Jestus: Possibly Deceased)
Jestus is an evil Sith, and possibly a master, who was one of the ruling member of the Free Worlds of Garka before he was uncovered as a dark force user. The first Sith encountered (other than Darth Murderous) by the characters, Jestus has had the frustrating ability to stay alive in each encounter, always having a way prepared to escape back to his master (assumed to be Darth Foul). Jestus often has turret droids aiding him.
Best Moment: While being chased by Ceris in a Feeyou windspeeder, Jestus leaped out of his own vehicle to land on top of the speeder traveling at 200 mph, and used his saber to cut the windspeeders front off while leaping away again - back to his own speeder. Once again, Jestus escaped.
Sith Students
Made of many races, the Sith Students are force-sensitive people that are being trained by the Sith Masters, including Darth Foul. They appear to be much less powerful than true Jedi, and are quite possibly even on a "beginner" level for the most part, still in training with using their force powers basically in lightsaber combat.
For each ten Sith Students, there is a Padawan, who is much more trained than the students. Rarely, when a Padawan has undergone years of experience, they reach the level of Sith, equal to the power of a Jedi. Once a student of the dark side of the force reaches this level, they often undergo a strange alteration of the body, becoming pale, with a darkening of the lips and eyes. These powerful Sith have learned to guise themselves with the nijar, a well-kept Sith power that allows them to make others see them as normal. The power cannot hide race or create other illusions, but does help mask the Dark Side from force-sensitive people. The most skilled at this power can walk among Jedi Masters and not be detected as anything but normal non-force sensitives.
The more powerful of Sith become Sith Masters, capable of defeating even multiple Jedi Knights.
There is a rumor of these force-users becoming so powerful they become Sith Lords, equal in power to the legendary Republic heroes such as Mace Windu and Master Yoda. If true, this level of power is extremely rare.
It should be noted here that Darth Murderous is a powerful dark force user, but is not part of the Sith in the Lost Sector.
Some Sith of Note:
Jestus (see description)
Darth Vicious (Sith Lord?) - mentioned by Darth Foul as his master
Deceased Sith:
Darth Foul (see description; deceased)
Twoman (illusion of a very handsome man; was a senator on FeeYou, killed by Ceris on a battle on top of the Saber)
Airtus (bald, was a senator from FeeYou, killed by Ceris on Garka after Airtus tried to kill the ruling body with assassian droids)
Artus Re (long blue hair, was a senator from Feeyou, nearly killed Molok with a lightsaber attack, cut Corvin's blaster in half when he tried to attack him. However, Corvin was able to get one blaster shot through his defenses and wounded his leg). Killed by Molok on Garka.
General Chandus (Feeyou general, killed by group effort)
Sith Troopers
The Sith Troopers were once a powerful military force in the galaxy, and were known to enforce the law of the Sith without those masters having to dirty their hands. They are neither force-sensitive (for the most part) or trained in the Sith arts. Instead, they are masters of the combat arts, including blaster, martial arts, and many specialized skills depending on their job. They have the same reputation in deadliness and skill as experienced special forces units in the modern world.
Although defeated during the Sith Wars and driven into hiding, it took a combined effort from the sectors to achieve this. It is estimated that for each Sith trooper lost, fifty of their foes fell. They are no less feared when they appear out of the shadows, ready to serve their Sith masters, even by giving up their lives.
Sith Troopers are all human (and nor clones), which is strange due to the fact that the Sith train aliens as students.

OTHERVILLIANS
----------------------------------------------------------------
Gorka The Hutt
Gorka the Hutt is ruler of Bantoonine, and one of a few Hutts that dwell on that world. It is said that Gorka is the most terrible Hutt that has ever lived, but that is said about almost every Hutt.
Like all Hutts, Gorka rules with a powerful but relaxed grip on Bantooine, and is not much seen unless their is a dispute that his judges cannot decide upon. Gorka has a small fleet of ships, but nothing compared to the armies of the Republic or Empire. He has recently taken to claiming nearby worlds as his own, but does this carefully, only taking worlds that no one else is concerned with anyway. His recent takeover of Unimor was a little out of character, and took many by suprise.
Gorka's real power comes from his extensive connections (and often real leadership) in the Lost Sector with nearly every major crime orginization. Just about everyone desperate goes to the Hutts for money and other favors, so there are literally millions who owe Gorka money, and he has a list of them all that he carefully watches. His agents make sure that the money is collected, and his bounty hunters are the best.
Gorka has been sending "diplomats" to crimminal worlds in the new areas of the galaxy that he has been exposed to, and has made powerful new allies with the bounty hunter's guild (the old one he used disappeared when the Lost Sector moved).
Anomus
A member of the rare race known as the Veeztar, Anomus is a lizard-like creature. He is also one of the most feared assassins in the galaxy, and Gorka the Hutt's favrite killer-for-hire. Note that Anomus is a member of the secretive assassin's guild, and not a member (directly) of Gorka's orginization.
Anomus tried to capture Molok for unknown reasons. It has been guessed at that he might be working for the Empire now, but this is still just a guess.
It is rumored that the Veeztar are immune to Force powers, including mind tricks and even telekenetic attacks.

Herki and Cherki: Two members of the Trice race (see below). It is unknown if they are related. Both were located on Q'Larn. Herki was killed by Arjan; Cherki was in the service of a cat-like alien who worked with Jessa to bribe the Judges of Garka.
POWER GROUPS
----------------------------------------------------------------
Garkan, Free Worlds of
The Free Worlds of Garkan are a loose organization of four worlds, including Jera, Garka, Romantine and Feeyou. Q'Larn is also in the same sector, but that criminal world is not aligned with the Free Worlds.
The Free Worlds fight against the Iluni Alliance, which strives to bring all worlds under common law. Most of their forces stay at "The Line", where the Garkan and Iluni forces posture against one another looking for weaknesses and openings so they can invade one another.
When Romantine was attacked by the Empire, the leader of Free Worlds, FayQuan, allowed Queen Shari to move two capitol ships to help the Republic. After FayQuan was killed, Jerad of Feeyou took his place.
Iluni Collection, The
The Iluni Collection, ruled by Shalo Nichos, is a powerful and aggressive area of space made of a collection of planets adjacent to the Lost Sector. The Collection believes that all people should follow under the same set of laws, even if by force.
Republic, New
The New Republic is the common reference to the new government of the galaxy. In the Lost Sector, the term refers to the lost section of the Republic that now fights against the Empire. They are also referred to as the Republic, the New Rebellion, The Rebellion, and sometimes as The Rebels, as they are the underdog in ships and firepower.
NEW RACES
----------------------------------------------------------------
Halabatians (Alien Race)
The Halabatians are an alien race that run most of the goverment of the planets and military of the Allied Worlds. The Halibatians, a tall race with short fur, ;arge eyes and large ears, are seen as superior to others (not by themselves, but by the other races), and rule Halabat (and thus the Allied Worlds). They were the original alien race of the sector, and possibly of all the sectors. The rulers are helped by the other races in the Allied Worlds, who are about 90% human.
It was the Halabatians that first decided to split from the goverments of Garka and Iluni, and seperate themselves into a new area of space. While basically this was the same goverment-splitting action that the Iluni had taken, the Garkans could not split their forces again to control the destertion of the forces they lost. Instead the Halabatians used their impressive scientific understanding to create massive droid-based ship facilities, droid fighters, and droid ground forces - enough to threaten the Garkans and Iluni from interfering in their sector of space. The Jedi, still powerful at that time, were sent to confront the Halabatians with a few forces, but the Halabatians discovered and used the Kazdan-Barr to fight the Jedi and Sith in their space. Since that time, they have grown into a force that overwhelms any other force in the galaxy, but have positioned themselves in a position of neutrality (at least until recent events).
The Halabatians are slow-moving and radiate a sense of wisdom and understanding beyond those of the rest of the sectors. Even when others disagree with them, they are left wondering if they are wrong after any brief encounter. They often see the other races as a parent would see children.
Iluni (Alien Race)
A human-like race with very large eyes, the Iluni race came from Ye, which was once called Iluni itself. However, the Collective took over the sector and enslaved the Iluni. Jealous of their aloof personalities and reputation for beauty and intelligence, the captors proclaimed their new government the Iluni Collective, in effect stealing their name. In a massive revolt many years later, most of the Iluni that remained fled to the Free Worlds of Garka. As a race, the Iluni are almost forgotten and ignored, and the term "Iluni" has become common for the government of the Collective, not the original race.
Jaran (Alien Race)
A reptilian race from the Jaran system, this race is known as fierce warriors. The Iluni collection has attacked with ground forces many times and over years the planet's surface has turned from beautiful to war-torn. Jarans seem to always be deathly serious to humans, but actually have very subtle emotional expressions.
(source of picture used here unknown)
Trice (Alien Race)
The Trice are a rare of humanoids that are red-skinned. Hairless, they have a small crest on thier head with three horns, giving them the nickname "dino-men". The men are inhumanly large and strong, similar in strength to wookies, but the females are human-sized and have typical human female strength levels. The females are considered very beautiful. The race comes from a small world named Herk in the Garka systems, near FeeYou. The world is small and poor, and is rarely visited by others than the Trice.
Veeztar (Alien Race)
A lizard-like race of aliens from an unknown world somewhere in the home sectors (the original area of space where the Repblic and Empire appeared from), the Veeztar are rumored to be immune to most mental effects and are very strong as well. Not much is known about the race.
OTHER CHARACTERS
----------------------------------------------------------------
Ondsec, Senator
A senator from the Jarintine system. The senator was a typical alien from Jarintine, being very tall, rust-orange colored, with gill-like filters on the edges of his throat. The senator was the reason most of the heroes left for the outer rims and ended up in the Lost Sector.
Respo, Thicon
An illegal arms dealer who sent thousands of new model combat droids into the shadow nebula, as well as ship parts and weapons. He was apparently unaware that he was dealing with the Empire. He was a very wealthy individual, but was arrested and placed into maximum security prison on Jarintine for his crimes.
Jaira Boom
Not much is known about this beautiful bounty hunter, even by Arjan, who once had a short-term relationship with her. It is known that she has a friendship with captain Ragar, who barely survived an encounter with Molok and other heroes.
Later, Boom appeared, and seemed to take a strong interest in Molok. Arjan checked, and there seems to be no bounty on Molok's head.
She has kissed Molok and flirted heavily, but has also made remarks that could be taken as threats in response to Molok's. She has not made it apparent why she is constantly catching up with him and appearing out of nowhere. When asked, she often smiles and claims that coincidence is a strange thing.
Update: Boom has joined Molok's team aboard the Pathfinder, but is still officially a member of Garka as a citizen of Q'larn. She has had a strong relationship with him for years, although she still only rarely speaks about her shadowy past.

SHIPS
----------------------------------------------------------------
Pathfinder, the
Molok Brandenburg's ship. The ship is rather large and capable of maintaining a scout crew of explorers for many months so long as water is available. Liquid remains are recycled to add even more time the ship can maintain survival, and whenever in an atmosphere the ship gathers moisture and filters it, adding to the available water supply. Very sensitive long range sensors allow the ship to detect life signs, organic material, liquids, mineral deposits and even a basic technology level from most standard planetary orbits.
The ship normally has no landing gear, but instead has a detachable secondary hull that attaches to the bottom of the ship. The hull can act as a landing platform and a temporary shelter and survey site. The secondary hull can act as an emergency escape pod as well.
The primary section of the ship (the top area) is basically the ship itself, with all the components necessary for flight, deflector shields, weaponry, and the like. If separated from the secondary hull, the ship has four thin but long landing gear that can allow it to set to ground safely.
(Artwork by J. Scott Pittman)
Saber, the
Corvin Jager pilots the Saber, a renamed ship he "acquired" in his past adventures. The ship is lightly armored and has moderate weaponry, but is very small (as freighters go) and fast, making dogfighting (or escape) it's main ability.
The Saber was loaned out to Ceris for some time, but was finally destroyed by in an attack by scout troopers on Yoonda.
(Artwork by J. Scott Pittman)
Meteor, The
A large and powerful ship, the Meteor is an ID4E7 model blockade runner, designed to survive powerful hits while delivering cargo through blockades. The ID4E7 was invented at the Halabat shipyards in the Allied Worlds, and had a successful run, but the goverment decided that the experimental systems and repairs on these ships were too expensive for mass production, and the line was discontinued after only about 200 were built. Because it is hard to find replacement parts for these ships, many of them have been heavily modified.
The Meteor was owned by Jayes, a thief, smuggler and crimminal, and captain Yenaro before that. After he was captured by Corvin, Molok, Arjan and Ceris, Jayes offered his ship in exchange for his life. The ship is quite large, even larger than the famous Millenium Falcon. The Meteor has been claimed by the entire group, although Corvin seems to be more and more attracted to it.
(Artwork by J. Scott Pittman)
Marauder, the
Corvin's now favored ship, he acquired this impressive vehicle from a bounty hunter that tried to kill him and his friends. The ship is large, but not too large, fast, and well armed.
(Computer composite artwork by Scott Nunley II)
Windspeeder, Feeyou
The Feeyou windspeeder is one of the fastest land vehicles (even faster in a straight line than swoops), being little more than a single-person cockpit and one huge engine. Despite the name, these vehicles cannot truly fly, although they can repulsorlift as high as most skyscrapers.
There are expensive versions of this vehicle with two-person seats.

DROIDS
----------------------------------------------------------------
Turret Droid
Turret Droids, rarely outside the military, are nearly blaster-proof and are little more than walking gatling-lasers. They are quite stable, even able to lose a leg and remain standing, and carry two repeating heavy blaster turrets. Their sophisticated sensors rarely allow for escape.
Jestus, the Sith, favors using these droids as guards.

Spatial Features
----------------------------------------------------------------
Fractured Space
Fractured Space is an area of space that seems to "funnel" toward the center of the central disk of the galaxy, creating a powerful field of "gravity" as one goes further away from the central point. In effect, it causes a 2-dimensional effect - ships that try to fly too far beneath or above this pressure field are destroyed, just like a submarine that goes to deep in the ocean.
Even the most brillant scientists have been at a loss to explain the fields, shown in green areas to the right (note that Caldus is at the central area of the field, so it is not affected by it), although many have the belief that the fields did interact with the Vaulter and cause the Shadow Nebula to appear where it did (notice it's position to a major "corner" of the field). Theories for fractured space have included areas of fractured hyperspace, causing "waterfall" effects, ancient weapons now gone, and the Sith.
The effect that Fractured Space does have is it allowed the Iluni's two main foes, the Allied Worlds and the Free Worlds, to create a "line" of ships at the central "disk" (a wall that still extends for many miles up and down from the imaginary centerpoint) to keep the Iluni (and now the Empire, who conqured the Iluni) from coming any further into their space. Note that beyond the fields (outside the map area) there is no known spacelanes, and all attempts to create them have failed, mostly with disaster. Scientists think that Fracted Space may keep spacelanes from being created outside the known areas of the galaxy shown here. If Fractured Space had something with ships in hyperspace, the ancient travelers to this sector may have trapped themselves here as they used hyperdrive technology.
