New Rules (3E)
As can be expected, there will be house rules in every AD&D game. I have made the following changes to the third edition of the Dungeons and Dragons game.

Epic Levels

Note: I know that there is an Epic Levels Handbook - but I am not paying $40 for it. I've looked it over and it's a bunch of useless information and powerful monsters (in my own opinion). No thanks. These rules are my own version of Epic Levels and they will do just fine. They are by no means official and I haven't read the rules for Epic Levels so I don't even know if they are similar.

Levels past 20th level are possible. However, 20th level is a single class is the limit (or lower if a presteige class has fewer levels). He has simply learned everything that class can acheive, without some type of specialized learning (Presteige Classes). In other words, a character can be 25th level - 20th/5th, 10th/15th, or whatever. Once a character has passed 20 levels, he is considered a Epic Level character, and the normal rules change slightly for him.

Experience
Experience for Epic Level characters continues to raise in the normal fashion, as shown on the chart below.

Ability Increases
Characters continue to earn ability increases at the rate of one increase for each four levels earned. There is no limit to ability score increases.

Skills and Ranks
The maximum Ranks that can be placed in any skill is 23 (gained at 20th level as a maximum for the character's Class Skills). The maximum in a non-class skill is 11 1/2. These levels of Rank avalibility are only avalible to those that have acheived 20th level in a class, of course. Characters still gain the same number of Skill Points at each level to apply to skills.

Feats
Characters continue to gain Feats at the rate of one for each 4 levels of experience.

Saving Throws
The maximum Saving Throw bonus from levels (without magic or other modifiers) is +12. Different kinds of Saves combine at character levels when character have more than one class- but the maximum is still +12, even if the player is adding the saves together from more than one class.

Attack Bonuses
The maximum attack bonus is +20 for any attack. By acheiving levels in more than one class or with Presteige Classes, a character can combine his base attack bonuses and gain even greater attacks, but never over +20. For example, a barbarian/fighter with 30 levels (20 bar, 10 ftr) would have a base attack of +20/+20/+10/+5. This could mean that a character with 20 levels or more might not get a bonus to his attack if he begins new levels as another class.
