He has lived, for the most part of his life, the normal existance of an elf, but turned to the study of the Art at the asking of his human teacher, Zedran (who has long since passed away). Zedran was horribly burned in a magical experiment, but taught Shalamar everything he knew. Shalamar has far surpassed his master in his field of experience. </div> <div> Shalamar was young when his parents decided to disappear to Evermeet, hime of the elves, but he decided to stay behind. </div> <div> Shalamar ran into Taymon Stormbreaker while that fighter was looking for new members to form an adventuring company to explore some ruins to the east of Waterdeep. Shalamar was thinking of retiring to Evermeet himself, but Taymon talked him into staying for a bit. That "bit" turned into a career of conquering evil across the realms. </div> <div> The Soaring Blade, Taymon's adventuring company, dubbed Shalamar "The Emerald Wonder" due to his love of emeralds in every form. Shalamar has used emeralds so much as casting materials, and designed so many spells with effects that are emerald in color, that now all of his spells have that hue to them in some fashion or other. For example, a zombie summoned by him would have green flesh, a fireball would be made of green flames, and a wall of fog would be made of greenish smoke. </div> <div> Shalamar possesses psionic abilities, but they are diffrent from those normally seen in the realms. His mental powers constantly shift and change, but he seems to have little problem adapting to gaining and losing such powers. </div> <div> Special Notes: Shalamar has a 50% resistance to magic due to his special nature as a chosen one of the god of magic, Mystra. However, this magic resistance fils in the face of any magic spell that involves cold or ice-like effects. </div> <div> In recent days, Shalamar is content to simply study and teach magic, but he has been called again to fight with his allies, the Soaring Blade, to face their greatest challenge yet...
