The Rod ended up in this world, and the Wind Dukes have strengthened it with powerful magics that only they know, using at least unicorn horns. The Wind Dukes claim that there are seven of them left, although they have never encountered more than one Wind Duke at a time.</div> <div>   However, it also seems that the Wind Dukes are cursed not to be able to reveal much information about the Rod, or at least claim to be so. They also claim not to be able to use the Rod. </div> <bR> <div> <TABLE BORDER="2" CELLPADDING="2" CELLSPACING="1" WIDTH="511" BORDERCOLORLIGHT="#C0C0C0" BORDERCOLORDARK="#808080" FRAME="BOX" RULES="ALL" ALIGN="BOTTOM" HSPACE="0" VSPACE="0" > <tR> <tD VALIGN=TOP HEIGHT= 325 WIDTH="499"><div> From the Adventure called Monster in Midtown:</div> <bR> <div> "Malachi was given time to travel into the woods and find Gethyere, and found that the Guardians were men chosen to receive magical spells and potions by the Wind Dukes so that their offspring could be manipulated into finding the pecies of the Rod. As Malachi has found a piece of the Rod as well, he suspects that he might be the offspring of a Guardian as well. </div> <div> Malachi also discovered that the Wind Dukes gave magic to the world, and thus caused the Mage Wars by accident. They refuse to teach more of their incredible powers, instead deciding to find warriors, instead of wizards, to do the hunting for the Rod. For that purpose, they created the Commander, the sword that Malachi possesses, if it is the same blade. </div> <div> Finally, Gethyere told them that there are several Guardians, and that they all have at least one offspring. The Wind Dukes can manipulate time and space around the offspring, but not their minds. "</div> </tD> </tR> </TABLE></div> <bR> <div> <B>The Rods</B></div> <div>   Apparently, there are seven pecies to the Rod that were shattered and lost. </div> <bR> <div>   Each must be found and connected together again for the Rod's true power to be revealed. To connect the Rods, a magcial circle must be made, the command word for the Rod spoken, and the Rods placed together by speaking a final command word. The command word "Shalar" allowed the Sandalar Rod and Nacat Rod to be placed together, but also broke them apart when it was spoken again (see the next paragraph). Speaking the wrong command words while holding one of the Rods seems to cause the Rods to burn the hand of the holder, if the words are repeated many times.</div> <div>   When the rods are gathered together but are not placed together in the right fashion, the Rods cause an explosion (which does not seem to harm living things), an fly apart, leaving one peice behind, but causing the other pecies to launch into the air with some kind of magic, to fly away somewhere else where they must be found again. </div> <div>   The Rods may require being placed together in a certain order. If that is the case, Rods #1 and #2 fit together, as malachi had placed them together at one point. This does not mean, however, that they <I>are </I>Rods #1 and #2, only that they follow each other in the correct path, if there is one.</div> <bR> <div>   Each of the command words and magic circle scrolls have been hidden way, just as the Rods themselves, making finding the Rods and putting them back together again a incredibly hard thing to do. </div> <bR> <div> <B>Powers of the Rods</B></div> <div>     The Rods seem to glow around each other from time to time, and each pulls in the direction of another Rod (not neccessarily the closest Rod). They are also known to glow around a unicorn.</div> <bR> <div>   Any of the Rods has a devestating effect on Spyderfiends and other creatures of the Dark Queen. Spyderfiends were disintigrated by the Rod on touch, no matter how powerful they were. </div> <bR> <div>   The Rods have been know to "want" to stay with a person or in a certain place. When Malachi tried to give the Rods to others to take them to Trader's Heaven, the Rods burned the hands of anyone wanting to take them. If this means that the Rods are sentient (as we know it) is unknown.</div> <bR> <div>   The charcters have discovered that the Rods have magical powers when they know the command words. </div> <div>   </div> <div> <B>One Piece</B><FONT SIZE="3" COLOR="#C0C0C0" FACE="Arial" >: With one Rod, the person weilding the Rod can cause a bolt of lightning to strike his opponents, or he can heal wounds. Each of the seven Rods can do this once per day (either the lightning or the heal power, not both).</FONT></div> <bR> <div> <B>Two Peices</B><FONT SIZE="3" COLOR="#C0C0C0" FACE="Arial" >: With two rods connected, the character has improved damage with whatever weapon he uses, and greater protection from weapons. </FONT></div> <div>   </div> <div> What other powers the Rods may have are a mystery.</div> <div>   </div> </td> </tr></table></body>
